We are currently seeking to employ Group Support Worker (Greek speaking).

Essential Criteria:

  1. Fluent in English and Greek
  2. Sound knowledge of the Greek culture
  3. Experience in working with & understanding of the needs of older people, particularly the Greek community
  4. Knowledge of food safety and hygiene

  6. Able to work independently
  7. Minimum Cert III in Aged and Community Welfare

Desirable Criteria:

  1. Experience in working in a community based organisation
  2. Sound computer skills
  3. Current driver’s license and access to a car
  4. Experience in program planning and group facilitation

Advance Diversity Services Settlement and Community Services Program is seeking an experienced Team Leader to provide support and settlement assistance to newly arrived migrants, refugees and humanitarian entrants living in St George and Sutherland areas; so they become self-reliant and participate equitably in Australian society.

SELECTION CRITERIA:

Essential

  • Bachelor in Social Work or Psychology, with minimum 3 years post qualification experience.
  • Demonstrated Casework experience, in particular within areas of Domestic Violence and Child Protection.
  • Demonstrated experience in supporting and supervising staff.
  • Demonstrated experience in community development and an ability to establish and maintain collaborative partnerships with stakeholders.
  • Good understanding of the settlement issues and needs of emerging communities.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects including budgeting, managing compliance requirements and meeting the contractual obligation.
  • Ability to work as a team, and autonomously under limited supervision displaying personal drive and integrity.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and spoken communication skills.
  • Excellent research and analysis skills to collate information from various sources for submission of funding and or policy writing.
  • Good computing skills and ability to use Microsoft application email, etc.
  • Current driver license and access to a comprehensively insured vehicle.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and in a range of locations across the service areas.

Desirable

  • Experience in working with people from culturally and linguistically diverse background.
  • Experience is using Data Exchange systems, Client Data Systems, or any similar system to record, analyse and store data.

Advance Diversity Services provides support services to people of culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities in the South East Sydney area (Eastern suburbs, St George and Sutherland).

We currently have a number of positions available for Community Care Workers to provide direct in-home services to our clients aged 65 years and over.

This role will require you to work in our client’s homes providing domestic assistance, personal care, respite, social support including transporting client and meal preparation.  All services are in line with each individuals care plan. Our ideal candidate will have a positive, cheerful personality, have excellent communication skills and be able to support the client to assist them in living as independently as possible.

To be considered for this role you will need to possess the following criteria:

Essential:

  • Certificate III or above in Community, Aged Care, Disability, Home-Care or equivalent
  • Previous experience working with frail aged people and /or people with disabilities
  • Genuine interest in working with older people and /or people with disabilities
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with people from diverse cultural background
  • Current National Police Check (or willingness to obtain)
  • Current Australian Drivers Licence (Provisional Licence accepted) and access to a fully comprehensive insured vehicle
  • Smart Phone and internet access

Desirable:

  • Bilingual and Bicultural
  • Current First Aid Certificate
  • Experience working with people with dementia, people living with a mental illness

Conditions:

Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award (SCHADS), Level 2, pay point dependent on qualifications and experience.
