Part-time – minimum 25 hours per week

Advance Diversity Services (ADS)  is a not-for-profit organisation providing support services to people in culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) communities in South Eastern Sydney region, in particular St George and Sutherland areas.

We are currently seeking to employ Bilingual Case Managers. The aim of this position is to provide case management services to frail aged and their carers through the enablement and consumer-directed care model.

Essential Criteria:

  1. Bilingual and bicultural in Macedonian or Italian
  2. Tertiary qualification in aged care, social work, community services or demonstrated competence/experience
  3. Demonstrated skills in case management and care planning within the community aged care sector
  4. Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  5. Ability to respond to crisis situation, good negotiation and conflict resolution skills
  6. Demonstrated ability to work with all clients, carers, service providers and others in the community and ability to act with integrity and maintain confidentiality all the times
  7. Sound computer literacy
  8. Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as an effective member of the highly interacted aged care team;
  9. Demonstrated Commitment to ADS values and philosophy
  10. A current NSW driver’s license and a reliable vehicle with insurance for work and ability to travel regularly

Desirable Criteria:

  1. Sound knowledge of consumer-directed care and community aged care industry
  2. First Aid certificate
  3. Understanding of other former Yugoslavian languages (for Macedonian speaking bilingual Case Manager position only)

Advance Diversity Services Settlement Services Program is seeking an experienced female Multicultural Youth Worker to provide support and settlement assistance to newly arrived young migrants, refugees and humanitarian entrants living in St George and Sutherland Shire areas; so they become self-reliant and participate equitably in Australian society.

Essential:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or experience in youth work/social work/community services or related fields

Advance Diversity Services provides support services to people of culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities in the South East Sydney area (Eastern suburbs, St George and Sutherland).

We currently have a number of positions available for Community Care Workers to provide direct in-home services to our clients aged 65 years and over.

This role will require you to work in our client’s homes providing domestic assistance, personal care, respite, social support including transporting client and meal preparation.  All services are in line with each individuals care plan. Our ideal candidate will have a positive, cheerful personality, have excellent communication skills and be able to support the client to assist them in living as independently as possible.

To be considered for this role you will need to possess the following criteria:

Essential:

  • Certificate III or above in Community, Aged Care, Disability, Home-Care or equivalent
  • Previous experience working with frail aged people and /or people with disabilities
  • Genuine interest in working with older people and /or people with disabilities
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with people from diverse cultural background
  • Current National Police Check (or willingness to obtain)
  • Current Australian Drivers Licence (Provisional Licence accepted) and access to a fully comprehensive insured vehicle
  • Smart Phone and internet access

Desirable:

  • Bilingual and Bicultural
  • Current First Aid Certificate
  • Experience working with people with dementia, people living with a mental illness

Conditions:

Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award (SCHADS), Level 2, pay point dependent on qualifications and experience.
