Advance Diversity Services Settlement Services Program is seeking an experienced female Multicultural Youth Worker to provide support and settlement assistance to newly arrived young migrants, refugees and humanitarian entrants living in St George and Sutherland Shire areas; so they become self-reliant and participate equitably in Australian society.

Essential:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or experience in youth work/social work/community services or related fields
  • Demonstrated experience in youth community development and case work, particularly working with young women
  • Ability to develop and facilitate youth group activities and events
  • Understanding of the issues and needs of newly arrived young migrants, refugees
  • and humanitarian entrants particularly working with young women
  • Experience working with young people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work with diverse external stakeholders
  • Ability to prioritise and meet deadlines including flexibility to work after hours
  • Ability to work as a team
  • Good computing skills and ability to use Microsoft application, email, etc.
  • Current driver license and access to a comprehensively insured vehicle
